Oyster mushroom is the most widely cultivated edible fungus in China, and the cultivation raw materials and facilities vary from place to place.
Although Oyster Mushroom is a wood-rotting fungus, it has a strong ability to decompose lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose. After domestication and cultivation, it can be cultivated using a variety of agricultural and sideline product scraps, such as cotton seed husks, corn cobs, soybean straw, lotus seed husks, broad-leaved tree chips, etc. Corncob is currently the most commonly used culture material for oyster mushroom cultivation.
There are many varieties of oyster mushrooms. According to the cultivation season, they can be divided into spring cultivation, summer cultivation, autumn cultivation, etc. Pleurotus ostreatus varieties with different temperature types can meet different needs.
1. Low temperature type. The suitable temperature for fruiting body differentiation is 5-15℃, the color is dark and off-white, and it is suitable for cultivation in winter;
2. Medium temperature type. The suitable temperature for fruiting body differentiation is 12-22°C, and the color is light or off-white. It is suitable for cultivation in autumn, winter and early spring;
3. High temperature type. The suitable temperature for fruiting body differentiation is 20-30°C, and the color is light or off-white. It is suitable for cultivation in high-temperature seasons and is prone to pests and diseases;
4. Wide temperature type. The suitable temperature for fruiting body differentiation is 15-25°C. The color of the cap will be dark when the temperature is low and light when the temperature is high. It is the main cultivated variety.
